03 / THE ACCESSORY SHORTLIST

Seven accessories to compare, with the practical reason to consider each one and the fit checks to make before checkout.
Protection + everyday handling

SmallRig 5698 half case
A leather half case for the LUMIX L10, with a front grip and an open-bottom design for access to the battery and card. A good starting point if you want protection around the base without enclosing the whole camera.
Before you buy
Choose this for a leather finish and everyday handling. Compare it with the 5700 base grip; do not assume they can be fitted together. The 5698 is the case, not the separate shoulder-strap kit.

A little more purchase

SmallRig 5702 thumb grip
A compact thumb rest that slides into the camera’s hot shoe. Consider it if your right thumb needs a more defined resting point while composing.
Before you buy
It uses the hot shoe. Check your setup if you also want to mount a flash or another shoe-mounted accessory.

A more substantial hold

SmallRig 5700 grip
An L-shaped mounting plate and handle for the LUMIX L10. The silicone grip and Arca-type base make this worth comparing with the leather half case if handling and tripod mounting matter most.
Before you buy
Choose the black 5700 variant. Check your tripod clamp and access to controls after fitting; the half case is an alternative starting point.

Keep a spare ready

SmallRig DMW-BLK22 battery
A third-party replacement for the DMW-BLK22 battery type used by the DC-L10. A spare is worth considering for days when you will be away from a charger.
Before you buy
Panasonic specifies the DMW-BLK22 type and recommends genuine batteries. This SmallRig option is third-party: verify the seller’s L10 compatibility, charging instructions and pack contents.

Control light for video

ND2–400 variable ND filter
A variable ND filter reduces incoming light, useful when you want to keep a chosen shutter speed or a wider aperture in bright conditions.
Before you buy
Check the selected diameter against your L10’s filter specification before buying. The supplied search was for 43mm, but a search term does not confirm the selected size. Check for vignetting and uneven density at strong settings.

Carry the camera comfortably

Peak Design camera strap
A carrying option for keeping the camera close at hand on walks and travel days. Choose the length and carrying position that suit how you actually shoot.
Before you buy
Check the exact model, colour, strap length and attachment hardware on this listing. Confirm clearance around the L10’s strap lugs and any fitted case.

Protect the display

JJC glass screen protector
A tempered-glass protector to consider for the rear display, especially if the camera shares a bag with other equipment.
Before you buy
Confirm the selected pack explicitly lists Panasonic DC-L10 compatibility. Check the screen can move and close fully after fitting; matching screen diagonals alone does not establish fit.
